New Audio Recognition API support

What are "Audio Recognition" challenges?

Audio recognition CAPTCHAs are challenges that typically require the user to listen to an audio clip and correctly input the series of letters or numbers they hear.

For your convenience, we implemented support for Audio Recognition API. If your software works with it, and supports minimal configuration, you should be able to decode Audios using Death By Captcha in no time.

  • Audio Recognition API: Provided the base64 string of the audio file and the language, the API returns the text of the audio that you will use to submit the form in the page with the Audio challenge.

Pricing

For the time being, price is $0.59/1K Audio Recognition challenges correctly solved. You will not be billed for Audios reported as incorrectly solved. Note that this pricing applies to new Audio Recognition challenges only, so only customers using this specific API will be charged said rate.

Audio Recognition API FAQ:

To use the Audio Recognition API you will have to send a HTTP POST Request to http://api.dbcapi.me/api/captcha

What are the POST parameters for the Audio Recognition API?

  • username: Your DBC account username
  • password: Your DBC account password
  • type=13: Type 13 specifies this is an Audio Recognition API
  • audio: Base64-encoded string representing the audio file data. We currently support only the MP3 format.
  • language: The detected language of the audio content. The supported languages are: en, fr, de, el, pt, ru

  • Example of Base64-encoded string audio:

    UklGRiQAAABXQVZFZm10IBAAAAABAAEAIlYAAESsAAACABAAZGF0YQQAAAAA

What languages are supported by the Audio Recognition API?

The supported languages are shown in the table below.

Language Code (language parameter) Language Name
en English
fr French
de German
